The Golf & Country Club Wallenried (GCCW) is located in the Freiburg region of Switzerland. Earlier this year, the golf club purchased a TopChanger XP. Jean-Claude Schouwey, Head Greenkeeper at GCCW, has been using our machine for some time now and shares his experiences.
Jean-Claude: “In the spring, a demonstration was organised by VGR and Stan Chapus of Greenmix France. They demonstrated the TopChanger XP from VGR Equipment. It was a successful demonstration and after some consideration we also purchased a TopChanger XP.”
Optimum playing quality
“We have now completed the first round with the TopChanger. And the results are impressive! Deep sand injections, firm greens and fast recovery ensure optimum playing quality.”
Water aerator
“As well as sand injection, we will also be using the machine as a water aerator. We hope to minimise the damage caused by insect larvae. We will also use the machine repeatedly, alternating between sand and water injections. This will hopefully make our greens more resistant to fairy rings. This is something we have yet to discover and will monitor over the coming period.”
Soil improvement
Jean-Claude is delighted with the results so far. “We are impressed by the operating speed of the TopChanger XP. The quality and user-friendliness of the machine are also remarkable. For us, all the signals are green when it comes to soil improvement. We will be keeping a close eye on this over the coming months!”
