Bartje de Gouw supports our mechanical engineering
Bartje de Gouw has been working for VGR Equipment as a freelancer since 2023. Among other things, he is responsible for planning and purchasing parts for the TopChanger XP, based on the expectations of the sales team. Among other things, he ensures that the required parts are available in the workshop on time.
“It is important to always look ahead and plan, just like I do as a dairy farmer”, he explains.
Dairy farming
As an organic dairy farmer, Bartje was looking for work alongside his work on his farm. Through his contacts with Arwin Verschoor, he ended up at VGR. “I started as a driver for the composting department. Until Arwin asked me for this job.” He now supports VGR on a flexible basis, usually one week a month, with no fixed days or times.
Flexibility
Bartje: “This flexibility fits in perfectly with my work as a dairy farmer. It is nice to be able to organise my own time, depending on the weather and my cattle.” His entrepreneurial skills in building long-term relationships come in handy in his work for VGR's machinery business. Bartje works on long-term agreements with regular suppliers. “This ensures stability in deliveries, even in times of delays.”
Solutions
“It is a matter of constantly looking ahead and estimating”, continues Bartje. “If procurement and delivery are not right, construction cannot take place. I am always looking for solutions and alternative parts when requested. Thanks to his approach, we are also building new, structural relationships with suppliers.”
Growth
And this contributes to the continued growth of VGR Equipment. This is a structural development that we have been counting on. This upscaling is reflected, among other things, in the new workshop and requires a fixed point of contact for our suppliers. Bartje: “The suppliers say they need this!”
